MAAHP is a non profit trade organization established in 2010 to promote and provide well planned, well constructed and professionally-managed affordable housing for Mississippi citizens so they can reside in a safe, secure, family oriented environment nested in a community setting which meets the housing goals established by community leaders and its citizens.

Mission Statement:

Organization Goals

  • Promote and encourage high standards of conduct and ethics by means of study, discussion, and education with the affordable housing industry.

  • Foster surveys and distribution of knowledge of the affordable housing industry among its membership and the public; and to broaden public understanding of the affordable housing industry.

  • Promote, maintain and encourage the civic, social and economic welfare of the affordable housing industry and to support a system of free, competitive enterprise and individual acceptance of responsibility.

  • Cooperate with federal, state and local government authorities for the goal of Mississippi communities and the affordable housing industry.

  • Cooperate with educational institutions and nonprofit organizations concerned with related interests of the affordable housing industry.

  • Acquire, preserve and disseminate data and available information relative in the functions and accomplishments of the Organization and its members.

  • Cooperate with related national, state, regional / zone, local / city associations that share common interests within the affordable housing industry.

  • Undertake such other functions consistent with the Bylaws as will advance the purpose of the Organization and its members.

  • Encourage and promote quality affordable housing that encompasses national best practice standards.
